P.D. James Takes On Jane Austen. . .

Here's some really exciting news for the fall season, just announced. Any new P.D. James mystery is a cause for celebration but this new crime novel is also set in the world of Pride and Prejudice, six years after Elizabeth and Darcy's marriage.  The murder victim?  None other than Wickham. Could this get more delicious?  Death Comes to Pemberley will be out in Canada at the end of November.
Can't wait to read this!

Is this real?! It's not April 1, right? Can't wait to get my hands on this. I've read a few spinoff-y things (not the zombie ones, but serious attempts to continue the story of Elizabeth and Darcy) and they disappoint every time. P.D. James, though. There's real promise there. Thanks for the tip.

Fear not, it is real - I'm about half way through the manuscript and the mystery is very good indeed. I'm not sure she's quite got the Austen bit down (but then honestly, who really could?)
